Pictures

A "Time Life" magazine, in '69
Arrested me and printed on my mind
Some pictures of our planet seen from space-
A colourful, and truly awesome place.

But then some other pictures caught my eye,
So cold and hard - they made me want to cry:
In black and white, they showed a bloodied man
Shot dead beside a car in Vietnam.

And in that moment I began to see
That this was not the way it ought to be.
I saw a lovely earth which God created-
And saw the world that man has desecrated.
